WHEN SAFE AIR management decided that the time had come to cease operating its faithful old workhorses the Bristol 170Freighter, little did they realise that for one aircraft, that day was not the end of the line. Named Merchant Hauler by the company, and registered as ZK-CLT, for over twenty years she was Charlie Lima Tango to the pilots who flew her, and to the engineers who maintained her.
