Profile - Doug Maxwell

HAVING his helicopter take off by itself only to unceremoniously crash into a river bed a few seconds later is just one of the memorable events in pilot Doug Maxwell's 22 years in commercial aviation. Doug, who lives on his 200ha deer farm near Alexandra in Central Otago, has been closely involved in pioneering aerial deer recovery in New Zealand and in more recent years has helped lead the development of aerial radio telemetry and pest control.
