Syd Lister: South Canterbury's flying farmer of four decades

PRIVATE aircraft owners, and especially flying farmers, are today as common to the New Zealand aviation scene as are the regulations that control them. But 40 years ago they were few and far between. One of the earliest to use an aeroplane as an adjunct to his primary business was Mr Syd Lister, an agricultural contractor of Milford in the Temuka district of South Canterbury, a man well-known in South Island aviation circles and who today continues using a light aircraft as a business tool.
