In this article we feature a number of photographs from an album, unnamed and held in the Wellington Aero Club archives. The compiler appears to have spent some time in Burma before arriving in New Zealand circa 1930. The photographs serve to illustrate that — while local civil aviation languished in the doldrums during the mid 1920s — pioneering was by no means at a low ebb in the outside world. It was to be news of the exploits of aviators intent on blazing a pioneering path around the world that kept civil aviation interest alive in New Zealand.
